L1488. Contractor's yard at the site of Quorn & Woodhouse station, circa 1897. The square structure at the centre of the photograph is the foot of a bridge pier. The construction of this station formed part of Contract No. 2 (Leake to Aylestone), built by Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton between 1894-1899.
