Printout from The Last Main Line:

Construction of Ickenham and Ruislip Station, Buckinghamshire.

Construction of Ickenham and Ruislip Station, Buckinghamshire.

L3313. This photograph, looking north, was taken by S. W. A. Newton at Ruislip in Buckinghamshire on the Great Western & Great Central Joint line. It shows the construction of the station canopies at Ickenham and Ruislip Station, before the main permanent way had been laid. The station builds appear to be finished externally, but only a contractors' line has been laid between the platforms so far. Two navvies, belonging to the teams employed by Pauling & Co., take a break on the right hand platform.
