Brick arch bridge construction near Woodford

Brick arch bridge construction near Woodford

L3004. A line of contractor's railway passes under the wooden centrings for what eventually would be a three arch brick overbridge, photographed near Woodford around 1897. Boards would be nailed onto these temporary timber arches, over which the navvies could then begin laying the bricks of the permanent structure.
