Bridge construction at the site of Charwelton Station

L2963. An interesting snapshot of the double span brick and girder overbridge (bridge no. 490) at the site of Charwelton Station, Northamptonshire. As construction of the station proper has not yet begun, a gap has been left at the centre of the parapet for the staircase that would eventually bring passengers down onto the single island platform. A small room was contained below the stairs within the brick pier, the rear window of which can be seen here.
