Baker Street Underground station

Baker Street Underground station

L2655. A view from the Circle line and Hammersmith and City line platform at Baker Street Station. This was one of the seven original stops on the world's first urban underground railway opened by the Metropolitan Railway in 1863. During the 1980s the station was restored, and the surfaces were all stripped back to the original walls. The installation of replica furniture, together with lighting that mimics daylight, now means that the platforms are similar to how those in the early Underground stations would have looked.
