Locomotive changeover at Rickmansworth

Locomotive changeover at Rickmansworth

L2645. As Rickmansworth marked the end of the Metropolitan line's electrified track until 1960, north and southbound services had to stop there to change their electric locomotives for steam engines, and vice versa. These railwaymen are coupling a Metropolitan 1921 electric loco to a train of southbound compartment stock.
