Building the station at Bulwell Common, Nottinghamshire

L2481. This photograph was captured at the site of Bulwell Common Station, Nottinghamshire. When completed, passengers would reach the station's single 'island' platform by means of a covered staircase leading down from the centre of this girder overbridge (bridge 273). It is interesting to note that even at this early stage in the Railway's construction (October 1896), a line of permanent way has already been laid.
