Two steam cranes at work near Regent's Canal, London

L2380. These two steam powered cranes are at work on a temporary bridge near Regents Canal, close to the Last Main Line terminus at Marylebone. Around forty two of these machines were employed during the line's construction. They were particularly well suited to the task of bridge building, where the lifting of masonry and steel girders was a labour intensive and time consuming process.
