Construction of Rugby viaduct

Construction of Rugby viaduct

L2221. Built by T. Oliver & Son as part of Contract No.4 (Rugby to Woodford), this photograph was taken looking north towards the southern end of the Rugby viaduct, seen here nearing completion. The line in the foreground was operated by the London & North Western Railway: the steel section of the Great Central's viaduct crossed the LNWR just east of their rival's own Rugby Station.
