Platform and water tower at Loughborough Central Station

Platform and water tower at Loughborough Central Station

L2166. Loughborough Central Station, photographed from the north end of the platform in March 1978. These visitors to the preserved railway were doubtless pleased to see that the station had changed comparatively little since it was opened in 1899. Visible on the far right of the picture is bridge 334, the double span girder structure carrying Great Central Road, and from which passengers enter the booking office before descending onto the platform.
