Bridge 400 near Whetstone in Leicestershire

L1995. Bridge 400 was a brick-arch bridge that spanned Warwick Road between Littlethorpe and Whetstone. The embankment carrying the line was very high and very wide on this section, making 400 a very large structure. In this May 1977 view, the west side of the bridge is partially hidden by the plant life that surrounds it, but a good idea of its size can still be gained. Today in 2003, the bridge has been demolished leaving only the truncated remains of both abutments.
