Bridge 408 near Cosby Hill in Leicestershire.

Bridge 408 near Cosby Hill in Leicestershire.

L1981. A side-on view of the three-arched occupation Bridge 408, looking north in May 1977. The two running lines ran beneath the central arch of the bridge, which was designed so that extra lines could be laid through the side arches (obscured in this view) if required. The trackbed is still very clear, yet the cutting sides have a fair covering of foliage. The bridge, built to serve the nearby Cosby Hill Farm, itself appears to still be good condition. Today in 2003, both sides of the bridge have been back filled as part of a land fill project and the parapets demolished.
