Girder footbridge and steam navvy near Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire

L1790. A tall girder footbridge crosses the Great Western & Great Central Joint Line near Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. At the centre of the photograph, a steam navvy still with much to do is busy excavating the cutting. This later section of the railway (Northolt to High Wycombe) was built by Pauling & Co. of Westminster between 1901-1905.
