Three arch brick overbridge near Cosby, Leicestershire

L1599. Three arch brick overbridge spanning a cutting near Cosby, Leicestershire, circa 1897. The bridge carried the 'road from Leicester to Lutterworth' (S.W.A. Newton's notes). On the side of the tipping wagon is the name of the contractor who built this section of the Railway (Contract No.3, Aylestone to Rugby): Topham, Jones & Railton. The tracks nearest the camera are the permanent way, whilst those beyond are the contractor's temporary rails, still to be replaced.
