Quainton Road Station, Buckinghamshire

Quainton Road Station, Buckinghamshire

L1581. 'Metropolitan Railway's Quainton Road station' (S.W.A. Newton's notes), Buckinghamshire, circa 1897. Beyond the iron footbridge is the new brick arch overbridge built to carry a road over the line. Not wishing to delay the increased volume of traffic that accompanied the Metropolitan's new relationship with the Great Central, the bridge was constructed to replace a level crossing.
