Bridge construction near Blaby, Leicestershire

L1573. Bridge construction gang at work near Blaby, Leicestershire, circa 1897. Note the wheels on this timber framed gantry: their toothed rims are untypical of those normally found on contractor's railway and machinery. This section of the Line (Contract No.3 Aylestone to Rugby) was built by Topham, Jones & Railton.
