L1498. Girder 'bridge over the canal, Loughborough', Leicestershire (S. W. A. Newton's notes). The identity of the man standing on the parapet is unknown. This section of the London Extension (Contract No. 2, Leake to Aylestone) was built by Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton between 1894-1899.
