L1447. Brick arch underbridge at an embankment near Swithland, Leicestershire, circa 1897. This arch could have been constructed either to accommodate an existing road or path, or to provide a farmer with access to their land. Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton was the contractor responsible for building this section of the Railway (Contract No. 2, Leake to Aylestone).
