Construction of a girder underbridge

Construction of a girder underbridge

L1370. Girder underbridge over Braunstone Gate nearing completion, circa 1897. This section of the Railway was built by Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton. Aside from its engineering significance, the photograph provides a wonderful illustration of Victorian dress and a snapshot of people's daily lives at the end of the nineteenth century.
