L1113. A brick built, three arch overbridge spanning a shallow cutting near Helmdon in Northamptonshire. The bridge was built as part of Contract No. 5 (constructed by Walter Scott & Co. of Newcastle-upon-Tyne). The picture, taken in 1897, shows the railway tracks and embankments fully completed, with railway workers and equipment seen in the distance. S. W. A. Newton describes the bridge as the 'Helmdon - Sulgrave Road in 1897, 72M 50C'. | |
