Looking Towards Jacksons Warehouse in Castlefield Manchester

T2135. The Bridgewater Canal arrived in Manchester in 1765. Initially the area around Castlefield developed as a centre for the delivery of the coal from the Duke's coalfields at Worsley to Manchester. This is a view across the Castlefield Basin looking towards Jacksons Warehouse, formerly known as the Duke's New Warehouse.
