T2760. This photograph seems to have been taken in the 1960s. It illustrates how much the Castlefield area has changed from a working area, housing the Bridgewater Department of the Manchester Ship Canal Company, to regenerated housing and leisure developments. The building on the far right is the Middle Warehouse. It has now been redeveloped and houses a mixture of retail, residential and business. The barges in the foreground are marked with the following 'M.S.Co (BD) MB', indicating that they were owned by the Bridgewater Department of the Ship Canal Company.
