Glass Tumbler Produced to Commemorate the Opening of the Manchester Ship Canal

T2586. Various types of commemorative goods were produced to mark the opening of the Manchester Ship Canal in 1894. This glass tumbler features a portrait of Daniel Adamson, the first Chairman of the Ship Canal Company, who was instrumental in the Ship Canal's success. He is framed either side by illustrations of vessels and their cargoes.
