T2498. After some years of neglect the Castlefield Basin has become a popular area to live in. Many of the warehouses have been converted into apartments or office space. The entrance to the Rochdale Canal can be seen be seen through the arch of the road bridge in the centre of the photograph. The Rochdale is now once again part of the canal network which allows pleasure craft to travel through Manchester and then on into Yorkshire from Runcorn.
