| T2478. The 'Daniel Adamson' was originally named the 'Ralph Brocklebank'. However, after having undergone a refit in 1936, it was realised there was no memorial to Daniel Adamson, the first Chairman of the Manchester Ship Canal Company. The Ship Canal Company amended this by renaming the 'Brocklebank' the 'Daniel Adamson' as a tribute to one of the driving forces behind the building of the Canal. | |
