| T2016. Daniel Adamson played a pivotal role in the realisation of the Manchester Ship Canal scheme. The meeting that he called at his house in 1882 is seen as the spur for the Canal's construction. He became Chairman of the Company in its early stages, but later resigned after disagreements over external funding. | |
