| G2171. The number three engine which had caught fire was removed and sent for examination, eventually shown to be a mismatch in machined cogs. All other salvagable parts were also removed as it became apparent that the aircraft would not be moved before the tide covered her. When the tide receeded the remainder of G-ALRX was then cut up for ease of removal back to filton where the forward fuselage was refurbished and used as an instructional airframe. | |
