G2165. G-ALRX sits on the mud of the River Severn as rescue tems attempt to recover her intact. Sadly the tide beat them and the aircraft was written off. nevertheless, all 13 persons on-board which included Dr Archie Russell, the Bristol Aeroplane Company (BAC) Chief Designer, Stanley G Hooker the Chief enginer of BAC engine division and their sales manager Mr Farnes and two representatives of KLM plus nine of the company flight test engineering staff, walked to safety, mainly due to the skill of the test pilot Bill Pegg.
