The Plough, Filton

G1837. This group photograph was taken during the early 1900's outside of the The plough, at Filton. Some of the group in the front row are in 'fancy dress'. Thomas Barret Pope is in the front row wearing the tall plumed hat. On the second left on the extreme back is Philip Sheild (Maureen Mays Grandfather). Philip Sheild's father was the propriator of The Plough, at Filton. I wonder what the special occasion of 'Raffles is on the Ground' on the posters refer to.
